The Golden Seal
by Cloral

Overworld Design: Although the topography was extremely well thought out (I enjoyed both the mountain and forest environments especially) I was put off by the screens filled with nothing (like some areas of the grass lands). I expect this to be a temporary thing, so I won't knock off too many points for it. Also, I had a somewhat difficult time finding exactly where the Northwest Palace was, perhaps a road would be fitting here.

Dungeon Design: I have one thing to say about the dungeon design: Amazing. Cloral has mastered the use of dungeon design, and you completely forget you're playing something in the Zelda 1 engine. My hat's off to you, Cloral.

Gameplay/Special Effects: A couple of minor special effects (including a lot of stuff found in the dungeon design department) create brilliant atmosphere. Cloral's use of differing music in the same dungeon was interesting and really added to the beauty of this product.

Storyline: I'm honestly not sure what the storyline of this game is, as it was not made very apparent. Judging from what I could figure, you're looking for the triforce, while the prince of the Northwest castle is as well.

Graphics: Never before have the dungeons or the overworld looked so good, using the BS Zelda base. The graphics get a 5 star rating for the dungeon tiles alone, much less the brilliant use of rounded geometry in the overworld.

Sound/Music: Cloral's use of both older and newer Zelda music was both fitting and extremely impressing: switching from a Zelda II song to a Zelda III song upon going up a floor in a dungeon was not only seamless, it gave each area its own specific feel. The only song I particularly don't care for is the overworld, but even that is pretty decent in its own right.

Overall: A must download, this quest proves that you can make quests which do not fit the 'mold' of Zelda Classic at all, whether it be in dungeon design, or the square-look of the overworld tiles. Cloral has displayed a masterful lordship over the editing tools, spewing forth this little bite of gaming goodness which has wet my appetite for more! I really want to play this quest when it's finished.
